Order Order Out of Order marked director Dhwani Gautam's return to Gujarati cinema with a courtroom drama, a genre Dhollywood rarely attempts. Writing in the Times of India, Abhimanyu Mishra rated the film three out of five and singled out the editing and the strong turns from the cast, a fair read of a production that is sharper in its courtroom exchanges than in its quieter stretches. What holds the film back is familiar terrain. Courtroom beats arrive on schedule, the truth-versus-system framing is one Hindi cinema has worn thin, and the two-hour-plus runtime asks for patience the middle act does not always reward. Still, for a regional industry then building its confidence, this was a credible swing at a serious, dialogue-driven genre rather than the usual romance or comedy. It works best if you come for the performances and the moral tug-of-war rather than for surprises, and on that count it mostly delivers.
